Server data exchange errors
- ERROR: Invalid login name or password.
- Wrong name or password.
- ERROR: Account unavaliable or locked.
- No comments.
- ERROR: Server not avaliable.
- The server is not available. Please check if the server address was entered correctly.
- ERROR: Account already in use.
- Somebody is already using the user name you have entered. You could have a copy of IDLe lauched already.
- ERROR: Logins disabled.
- No comments.
- ERROR: Invalid software version.
- The server doesn't work with this version of software. Obtain and install the new version.
- ERROR: Invalid software ID.
- The server doesn't work with this software. Most likely you are trying to connect to a wrong server.
- ERROR: Server not running, invalid server name or port number.
- The server doesn't work or the address/number of the port is wrong. Check if the server address was entered correctly.
- ERROR: Unknown error.
- Contact technical support.
- ERROR: Server internal error.
- Server internal error. Contact technical support.
- ERROR: Windows socket error XXXX. Check server address and TCP/IP settings.
- Windows socket #XXXX error. Check server address and TCP/IP settings.
- ERROR: Unhandled error: XXX
- An unknown error code was sent by the server. Contact technical support.
IDLe error messages
- You must select path to MetaStock data files first.
- The path to MetaStock data files is not specified. The settings are impossible to save.
- No items selected.
- An attempt to receive the last launch date without selecting any ticker.
- Server XXXXXXXX not responding.
- Server XXXXXXXX not responding. Further operations of the software will be determined by settings.
- Item XXXXXX not found.
- Ticker XXXXXXXX is not found. The data file for this ticker might be lost or corrupted.
- Item XXXXXXXX is locked.
- Ticker XXXXXXXX is locked by other program, most likely by the MetaStock Downloader. Further operations of the software will be determined by settings.
- Connection refused.
- The attempt to connect to the server failed. It is usually accompanied by other messages.
- Can't add item XXXXXXXX. Access denied.
- The data file for this ticker can't be created. There's no directory access.
- Can't upgrade MetaStock 6.0 data.
- IDLe 3.0 doesn't support MetaStock 6.0 and can't convert data received by the older version of IDLe. Select a new directory and download the data again.
- Can't open data files.
- IDLe can't open the data files. It happens, most likely, because of a small error in Equis Data Server. Unfortunately, there's no way to suppress this error reliably, but its probability may be significantly reduced. To accomplish this, you should launch IDLe and stard the data download before launching MetaStock. Using very short (2 minutes) or, conversely, very long (60 minutes) Download periods also helps. Should the error occur anyway, close and restart the Equis Data Server.
IDLe information messages
- New items are available.
- New tickers are available. The list of new tickers will be displayed in the main window.
- No new version found.
- Appears upon clicking the "Check now" button, if the new version is not found.
- Disconnected.
- The connection to the server is lost because of clicking the "Stop download" button.
- Stop download.
- The data is loaded successfully, the connection is closed.
- Start download.
- The data download has started.
- Nothing to download.
- No tickers are selected, therefore the download is not proceeding.
- You must select one or more item to complete the operation.
- No tickers are selected and the selected MetaStock data directory is empty. The date of the last launch is not available.
