- There are several products developed by Equis, under the MetaStock name. In particular, MetaStock Professional and MetaStock for Windows. The IDLe is designed to work only with the MetaStock Professional 6.52 and later. The MetaStock for Windows might be able to receive the data from the IDLe, but no warranties as to the correctness of its operation exist. Use at your own risk.
- All versions of the MetaStock Professional up to 6.51 inclusive will not work properly in 2000. The IDLe supports only the MetaStock Professional 6.52 and later.
- The MetaStock files can store unlimited number of quotations (in the case of IDLe - about 40 thousand only). As the new data is received, the old is removed. For example, the one minute data is stored for approximately 1 month and the five minute for 5 months.
- The MetaStock load only 1000 last quotations by default, but charts only 250. Therefore, the majority of historical data received by IDLe, will not be displayed by the MetaStock. If you wish to make a chart over a longer period of time, change the MetaStock's settings.
- If you haven't used IDLe 2.x or 3.0.x previously, pay attention to the fact that in IDLe 3.5 the convention about the intraday (hourly or 1-minute) bar time is changed. For example, while the 15-minute bar had time of 15.45, it previously meant that it had been opened at 15:45 and closed at 16:00. Now the very same bar would have the time of 16:00. This is a result of certain limitations of the MetaStock 6.52.
- Adding and removing instruments, unlike in the previous versions of the IDLe, will occur automatically with no action required on user's part. You can only activate the instruments and intervals from the lists of available ones.
