To change the ticker or period of the chart, type appropriate data in the field (6) (Figure 1) and then press Enter. The example below shows 5 minute (M5) chart of US dollar - Japanese yen rate (USDJPY)
If you want to display another instrument in this window, for example British pound - US dollar rate, type GBPUSD and press Enter. If you want to display 10-minute chart of the same instrument, type ",M10" or just "10" (without the quotation marks). The comma in ",M10" is mandatory. Don't forget to press Enter every time. When the new chart is displayed, the field (6) should have "GBPUSD, M10".
There are two quote sources: info quotes and tradeable quotes. The info quotes are displayed by default. In order to show tradeable quotes add "AKM:" in front of the currency symbol. The "INF:" (not required) would force info quotes. For instance, "AKM:GBPUSD, M10" would display 10 minutes chart of tradeable GBPUSD quotes.
In case a chart of individual BID or ASK is required, a "-BID" or "-ASK" respectively should be added after the currency code. For example, for displaying a chart of 5-minute USDJPY BID enter "USDJPY-BID,M5".
If an invalid ticker or period is entered, AFMCharts would show an error message. The message appears in the legend field (4) of the chart (Figure 1) as "ERROR -- Invalid security" (invalid ticker), or "ERROR -- No data for this interval" (invalid period).
